Review: Chester French - Love the Future

From Harvard graduates to hitting it big with a following that is increasing more and more these days, ladies and gentlemen I give you Chester French. Hailing from Massachusetts, these guys are far from your ordinary run of the mill groups out and about today. Around their senior year the guys had just put the finishing touches on their demo and sent it out to everyone they could find in music. Some of the groups early supporters ranged from celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, to producer turned rap artist Kanye West.


Now for starters, lets take a look at how I first was introduced to these guys. Surprisingly one day flipping through channels I came across their video for the single 'She Loves Everybody'. The video depicts a girl basically beating the living shit out of members D.A. Wallach and Maxwell Drummey. I thought the video was pretty amazing, but as I listened to the song I was drawn in. 'She Loves Everybody' in so many words is, in my eyes, word for word is about a sex addict. Lines like “So she craves affection, so I use protection. And I know she loves me, she loves everybody,” is a dead give away. The song itself is one the launched this group without a doubt. It’s catchy and the beat itself is just perfection. Paired with D.A.’s fantastic vocals no words can describe how much I fell for this song.


The band themselves has described their sound to belong to the genre “Gentleman Rock” and I won’t question it. I mean, the album when you first listen is just elegant in so many ways but also very danceable. One song that evokes a classic feel to it reminiscent of rock music of the 60’s with a mix of today’s pop is the song titled 'The Jimmy Choos'. Easily one of my favorite songs off the album hands down. The perfect song describing over materialistic girls.


All in all if I were to suggest a group coming up in this industry, I would definitely point them to this album. 'Love The Future' is the great mix of classy pop and amazing beats to get you up and dancing. I expect great things from Chester French in the future, and by the way this album sounds, the future of Chester French is sure to be bright.
