"The Future Freaks Me Out" by Motion City Soundtrack
Arguably the summer song of Warped '03 (and Motion City's first single to catch some heavy attention out here in listener land), "The Future Freaks Me Out" actually almost didn't make the cut for the band's debut full-length on Epitaph Records, I Am The Movie. With heavy lead synth lines and the "Did you hear him take a break at all in that verse?" lyricism of Justin Pierre, this track just might have set MCS up to do all the grand things they've done since. This song takes me back to when I first heavily delved into music...back when MCS became my favorite band of all time. So drive somewhere with an amout of people in your car over the legal limit, and sing this song really loud with the windows down. That's what it was made for.
